Arif Springs is a jamu and rawfood specialist, practicing out of Ubud, Bali and presenting at workshops and food festivals around Indonesia and the world. His passion is showing people of all backgrounds and budgets how easy it can be to enjoy a healthier diet via the simple, plant-based ingredients that they have at their fingertips.
Originally from Sundaland, West Java, Arif was born to a traditional family where he learned grassroots ways to heal people through herbs and spices. Since moving to Ubud, Arif has specialised in the world of raw cooking, which allows him to combine the organic food skills of his upbringing with his unique artistic flair. He is the head chef at Fresh, the acclaimed raw and vegan restaurant at Taksu, Ubud. Fresh’s concept and menu were built to showcase Arif’s rawfood expertise and help share his healthy-eating philosophies and spectacular presentation with a wide audience.
Arif is a regular presenter at the Ubud Food Festival, where he has co-presented his “Jamu For You” workshop with Janet DeNeefe for two consecutive years, toured Java presenting a series of locavore workshops in 2015, and was delighted to make his debut at the 2015 Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, as part of its “In the Kitchen” program.
He and his work has been featured on video and TV by the teams of EatPlayStay, EatAway, and SeeBeNow. Currently, he oversees his team at Fresh while presenting Rawfood Classes and daily heathy-eating workshops at Taksu.
This website exists so that Arif can share his philosophies and healthy eating tips – and his delicious recipes. Stay tuned for some very exciting news in June about how you can book a private online consultation with Arif and have a healthy tonic recipe tailored just for you.
